Google Duo: How to Review Your Call Log

Mel HawthorneFebruary 9, 2021 Comments (0)

Occasionally with call-based communication apps, you may want to check your call logs. These logs can let you see who you talk with the most, both regularly and for how long. You can also see data about when your calls took place and whether you placed or received the call. This data can also let you check if someone made a call from your phone or computer while borrowing it.

To be able to request your Google Duo call log, you need to go into your settings. To do so, click on the cogwheel icon in the top-right, labeled “Settings.”

Click on the cogwheel icon labeled “Settings.”

In the settings, click “Download” in the “Call log” section, and your browser will download a CSV file of your call data.

Tip: If you don’t have any calls, the call log may instead say, “No call history found on this browser.” This indicates there is no call log for you to download from the current device.

Click “Download” in the “Call logs” section to download your call log.

Once the CSV call log file is downloaded, you can open it in any spreadsheet software, such as Microsoft Excel. The data comes in five columns: Time, Other ID, Direction, Duration (seconds), and Self ID. “Time” is the time that the date and time that the call started.

“Other ID” is the other person’s identifier on the call; this can be their email address or their phone number; “Direction” indicates if the call was incoming or outgoing. “Duration (seconds)” details how long the call lasted. “Self ID” lists your user identifier, either your email address or your phone number.

The call log contains the: time, duration, and both your own and the other person’s number and information as to who made the call.

By checking your call logs occasionally, you can review your activity and see if any unauthorized calls have been made on your account. By following the steps in this guide, you can download and view your Google Duo call logs.
