MacOS: Force Quit Apps

If an application is frozen or unresponsive in MacOS, you can force quit the application using one of the methods below.

Option 1

  1. Hold the “Option” key while right-clicking/Control-clicking the app in the dock.
  2. Select “Force Quit“.

Option 2

  1. Select the “Apple” menu, then choose “Force Quit“.
  2. Choose the application you wish to force quit, then click the “Force Quit” button.

Option 3

  1. Hold “Option” + “Command” and press “Escape“.
  2. Choose the application you wish to force quit, then click the “Force Quit” button.
